Planning and conservation areas in Brent

Under section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 a local planning authority is required to designate as conservation areas those areas of special architectural or historic interest which have a character or appearance which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. This means that it is a more complex process to gain permission from the local planning authority to develop in a conservation area. It can also be more difficult to gain planning permission in a listed building or conservation area due to building constraints. Brent has 22 conservation areas listed below:

Barn Hill North Kilburn
Brondesbury Northwick Circle
Buck Lane Kingsbury Paddington Cemetery
Harlesden Queen's Park
Homestead Park Roe Green Village
Kensal Green South Kilburn
Kilburn St Andrews
Lawns Court Sudbury Cottages
Mapesbury Sudbury Court
Mount Stewart Wembley High Street
Neasden Village Willesden Green
