Planning in Elmbridge

Between the 2001 and the 2011 Census the population of Elmbridge rose by 7.3 per cent. In total in 2001 there were 121 936 residents whereas in 2011 there were 130 875. The number of households in 2001 were 50 621 unsurprisingly, with the population increase, this rose to 52 922 in 2011. Get Planning and Architecture team stay up to date with building and development news in the UK. This is so that our planners and architects have an understanding of the needs of both the location and those that reside there.

Construction work finished in 2014 on the new community hub in Cobham. Shanly Homes constructed the building which includes a new library, children’s nursery and community facilities. Now that this building is completed, land adjoining the site will also be developed with 13 three and four bedroom family houses designed to reflect the design of current homes located there. Existing links to the high street will remain with improvements made to Cedar Road. It is an exciting project that will not only provide a boost to the local economy but create thriving community areas, leisure facilities and supply the area with much needed high quality housing.

In other news, the construction of 20 new homes at Molesy Football Club is underway, having gained planning permission in 2012 and started construction in 2014. It is hoped that the money generated from the new homes will secure the future of the football club.
